The Role of the Foundation.
- Friends groups are important to the National Park Service (NPS) because they help promote and support parks, their programs, events, and initiatives. Friends groups can help in a number of ways, including:
- Raising funds: Friends groups raise funds to support efforts that are not funded by the NPS.
- Providing volunteer services: Friends groups can provide volunteer services.
- Assisting with resource management: Friends groups can help with resource management and preservation.
- Publicizing important issues: Friends groups can help publicize important issues.
